Awww I hope James feels better. I did the same thing last month...we just adopted an 11 yr old golden, and he got an intestinal obstruction. The vet let me stay for hours the day after his surgery, just laying on the floor beside him. They brought in a quilt for us to lie on. I was so pleased they were fine with me visiting.
