♥ Hi Edie! Hi Amy! Thank you for letting me play Pet Blogger Challenge with you! How fun!
1. When did you begin your blog?
♥ October 8, 2011
2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
♥ Fun!
3. Is your current purpose the same?
♥ Yes!
If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?
♥ Drawing the comics is very fun for me! If I get frustrated about anything career-related, I draw more pictures.
4. Do you blog on a schedule?
♥ I draw whenever I feel like drawing, or have a story line to tell, and post on a schedule!
If the former, how often — and what techniques do you use to stick to it?
♥ I started by posting a comic once a week and now I post Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I keep the original drawings of several comics ready and set them up to automatically post at midnight of the day they are scheduled. I set up about three drafts ahead of time.
5. Are you generating income from your blog?
♥ I have not yet, but I have a When I Grow Up I Want to be a Vet Zazzle Store with a few fun things and Ad Sense set up in the blog.
6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular (bragging is good!)?
♥ I LOVE drawing, and I love being to share my happy attitude and some of what veterinary medicine has been like for me.
♥ I also love how it resonates with other people, and how I can include some of that in the comic.
7. What do you like least?
♥ Having so much to share is disturbing! It is not, of course, a literal autobiography, but it is based on some of the things I have experienced in my career as a veterinarian. Veterinary medicine is full to the top with good guys, but I seem to have spent time with the few who were less than awesome, and that is what I draw, for three reasons...
1) I don't need an outlet to process all the wonderful things I have experienced. I promise it way outweighs the bad!
2) Bad guys and horrible situations are really fun to draw.
3) The stories of the frustrating aspects of my veterinary career are more interesting and fun to read, I think. Especially, if you, like me, decided as a really little kid that you would be a veterinarian (whether you did in the long run or not!) because...pets are great! Who knew there could be so many other aspects of the career?? I like that my character is so child-like in some ways, even as a doctor, especially in her attitude of assuming and expecting the best.
8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2012?
♥ Happily, I should be all out of drama and grief soon, and will have mostly happy stories to share! Those are not as shocking, of course, and not as funny as some of the horrible situations, but from my perspective, I am ready to give the poor main character a break!
Hello. You're the second random link I've clicked today that has cute pictures! Lucky me. I would have to say you have quite a niche blog here.
ReplyDeleteIt's odd how horrible situations and people make funny stories. I have quite a few posts like that too. Very purging to write [or in your case, draw] about them.
Nice to meet you. Happy blogging!
hi i saw ya first when Rumpy did an enjoyable post on ya...i shud say that yar drawings are cool... and its nice to know yar answers to the pet blogger challenge... i agree with your opinion on too much to share is disturbing...cuz u'l never know when the baddies attack...wags and kisses xoxox- Vanilla Bean

ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
Great interview! Good luck with your goals in 2012!
ReplyDeleteSounds like drawing, and this blog, are very therapeutic for you. I feel like our blog is for me too in a way.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! I'm browsing through some of your drawings now - they're great!
ReplyDeleteI love your drawings - they're so whimsical! I think it's wonderful that you've always known what you wanted to be when you grew up - I'm still trying to figure it out. Happy Blogging!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You could whack the bad guys over the head in your drawings, and not go to jail. Being incapable of even the most simplistic drawing myself, it sounds like a great outlet. Thanks for joining the challenge!
ReplyDeleteHi guys! Thanks for the encouraging words! I love your blogs :)
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for visiting our bloggie and admiring Coco's pink bed jacket. Teri loves vet med too, it's just some of the people that get her undies in a bundle (and not usually the clients cuz she doesn't have to spend 8 hours a day with them, hahameow!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting Boogie's blog! It's so nice to meet another person who loves drawing and posts cartoons on her blog! :) Funny thing is, when I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be a vet, too, because I love animals. But instead I got into animation/illustration and now I draw animals. It all works out!
ReplyDeleteOh, fun! I'm glad I found you and I love your cartoons!! Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteHey thanks you all!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I love that you draw pictures. SOmetimes you can communicate more that way anyways don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI could have sworn you had been blogging longer because I remember connecting with you once in the past, but perhaps I've started thinking a few months as longer? I must be getting old.
I like that you are very clear about what your blog is and isn't and I love that you share your experiences through comics. My brother has drawn since he was a kid and has done comics on the side, mostly for himself, it's a nice release for him. I'm guessing from your post that the same holds true for you.
Hoping the good stuff is upon you soon!
Hi Mel! You are not getting old ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, I love it! So much more fun drawing horrible experiences than living them! :D
I have no doubt that once you finish processing the yucky stuff you'll still find plenty of funny things to inspire cartoons. Any time you have people and animals you have plenty of opportunities for humor.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogging in 2012.
I hope you are right Pamela! Pets ARE even more fun to draw than bad guys! You too! Happy New Year and happy blogging in 2012!
DeleteYeah, peace of mind is way more important than blogging!
ReplyDeleteYou speak the truth Rumpy Dog! I think if I keep drawing, I MAY stay sane! :D
DeleteStill catching up on the hop *shaking coonhound head*, we love your drawings! What a terrific way to journal your experiences! Barooo!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks Prudence! I love your site!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to "meet" you! I love your comics! What a really cool way to share your life. Can't wait to see more :0)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Kol!
ReplyDeleteSuper Cool! I love the cartoons your drawing on your blog! I'm so glad I found you through the pet blogger challenge. I love your up beat attitude that resonates through your cartoons and this blog post. I can't wait to see/read more. All the best to you in 2012!
ReplyDeleteThank you Colby!! All the best to you too! I think it is going to be a really great year!
